TGIF!

For lots of people, including me, it’s getaway day for the last long holiday weekend of the summer of 2012.

Like many other summer weekends, we can look forward to kicking back at the beach or pool, maybe packing a picnic for the park or heading to a backyard barbecue. Whatever’s on your agenda this weekend, be sure to make make the most of every minute and enjoy the downtime!

Wherever you’re headed, I thought I’d offer some timely reminders on how to fit some fitness into the holiday weekend and make some smart food choices.

  1. Laura,

    Some great ideas here.

Wishing you a great weekend. Hope it includes some beach time for you.

    • Thanks, Tom! I’m planning some beach time tomorrow and then pool party / BBQ fun with friends on Sunday. Wishing you a wonderful holiday weekend, as well!

    • Thanks, Tom! I tried to go to the beach yesterday..only to be literally chased away by an invasion of stinging horse flies! (Lots of people left because of them) Did get some backyard sun time after, and heading to a pool party today. Hope you’ve enjoyed the weekend so far and enjoy your holiday.

      • Laura, sorry about the beach thing but enjoy the party.

Good weekend here- reading, working on the book project, and- with inspiration from your example- some hard workouts. So all good.

        Tom

  2. See you in September Laura. have a great weekend!
